The Centre for Northern Families has been operating under the governance of The Yellowknife Women's Society since 1990. Throughout its operational history, the Centre has established a strong reputation based on their history of serving and advocating for marginalized women in the North.​

​​Our Vision

To make sure there is a permanent, unfettered forum for women to:

Maintain their voice in the North
Nurture and celebrate cultural diversity, and
Live healthy and empowered lives, enriching themselves, their families and their communities

​To support and assist women and their families in empowering themselves so that they can develop their goals, achieve wellness, enjoy equality and be recognized for the contribution they make in the community.

To recognize the needs of women and their children and identify the means to meet those needs through program development and funding initiatives.

To provide a safe and nurturing physical place for women and their families to meet and access programs and services.
